Manager Gamblers

Erik has managed the Gamblers the last two seasons and in both of those seasons managed the Gamblers to the League Championship Series.

College

Attended Tennessee Tech University on a full ride baseball scholarship.

Drafted

In 1996 drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in their first ever amateur draft.  Made Major League debut July 9, 1999 against the Oakland A’s.  Erik was the first Diamondback drafted player to appear in a Major League game.

Professional Highlight

In 2001 he was a integral part of a young bullpen helping the club win a World Series championship, defeating the heavily favored New York Yankees in 7 games in what was one of the most memorable World Series ever.  

Diamondback Coach

Hung up the playing cleats in 2004 and put on the coaching shoes for the Yakima Bears, a short season A ball team in the Diamondbacks organization.

2005-2011 Erik coached for 6 seasons with the Diamondbacks, his last season being in Visalia, California. 

Currently

After 15 years of pro ball he has been coaching in Tucson at different levels from 12u club ball to high school head coach and since 2022 the Sunbelt League Speedway Gamblers and twice reached the league championship series finals.
